Oh, how I love pretty papergoods and packaging materials! There are few feelings in the world like unwrapping a gift from your favorite boutique – personally tied and packaged just for you! And while Krista Jones designed the look and feel of my new branding, I sat down and made a list of things that I wanted to accomplish with each and every client that I worked with in 2012.
My list summed to a very simple concept – giving each and every client a truly personalized experience from inquiry to the arrival of their DVD. I’ve always loved the more personal aspects of the process – From the minute a couple inquires about their wedding, I want to know more about them (where did they meet, how did he propose, what are they most excited about for their wedding day?). These little tidbits are exciting – they keep me interested, motivated, intrigued from session to session. And just as every couple’s love story is unique, their experience with their photographer should be as well!
In redoing my branding, I wanted to convey this same message throughout every aspect of the client experience!

The business cards are very simple and cleanly designed. I love the soft watercolor background and the fine-art textured paper, it fits the logo so well. There isn’t a whole lot going on with the cards, and that is the way I wanted them. Classy and elegant; straightforward and specific!

One of the first things I did after receiving my new logo, was to order custom stamps! Having your logo in a stamp allows you to be more creative and truly “brand” a variety of different packaging elements for the client. Using watercolor paper, I punched gift-tags that I will tie around each client’s DVD and then stamped the tags with my logo! I really love how something as simple as a custom gift tag creates the overall feeling that receiving your photography goods is very much like unwrapping a gift!
For mailing prints to clients, I will now be slipping a few prints into hand-stamped linen bags! For years, I’ve been searching for the perfect way to send a few prints along to my client after the wedding or engagement session – and I can’t get over how perfect these bags are!

From start to finish, my client experience is geared towards creating a personal relationship – I will be wrapping all of my 2012 DVDs in tissue paper and tying it up with string. Print products will be mailed with boutique packaging. Personally written thank you cards will accompany the photographs on their way to my amazing clients, and DVDs read very clearly:
PRINT. SHARE. LOVE.
When the box arrives, and you tear it open – I want you to feel as though you’re opening something created with love, made just for you. Photographs are heirlooms, photography sessions should be a truly personal experience, and I want to convey that message from the beginning until the end!
