When we first announced our trip to Charleston, John caught wind of the news and secretly emailed me with his upcoming proposal plans! Megan had been following my work for quite a while and it was perfect timing that we would be driving down the weekend of their Anniversary! When John called to tell me even more about his incredible girlfriend, Megan – he poured out his heart over the phone. And in the genuine, compassionate way that he described her… it was incredibly apparent that these two were meant to be! Love like that is a rare and beautiful thing… And to hear just how excited John is to marry Megan, well… it brought tears to my eyes!
On Friday, Megan thought they were taking her pup, Cooper, for a walk before dinner, when John stopped alongside the Harbor and got down on one knee. With tears in her eyes, she said YES to the cheers of her family and friends who were hiding on the pier! It was the most incredible moment and I still cannot believe that we had the honor of photographing it! After the proposal, we walked around the charming downtown area and captured a few Engagement Pictures for these two!

Ah! You can imagine all of our tears as we captured this proposal! I want to thank Kate + Maddie for helping me to capture this special moment! They are the sneakiest second shooters in the world! Maddie was being incognito on a bench, while Kate was sitting in a nearby car! It allowed us to have the proposal covered from several angles! Love these girls!
Can’t you imagine Cooper saying, “Guys… GUYS! My mom & dad are getting married?” in the most enthusiastic voice ever. Yep.
Battery Park for the win!! That light in the last set is incredible! I also love that you can just tell she is so in love with this guy during the first few photos after the proposal – and maybe a bit still in shock. These two are absolutely adorable!!
