Monday Musings | Turning Inspiration into Action

February 11, 2013 | Posted in Monday Musings

Last week, I encouraged all of you to use your words to lift others up with your words in the Compliment Challenge! I hope that everyone who participated, even if only for a day, enjoyed the experience!

I can honestly say that I kept up with the challenge until Sunday, when I spent most of the day taking care of a sick Huey. Regardless, I really enjoyed the week of lifting others up! When we make a choice to be positive, compassionate, and caring – it not only brightens the lives of others around us, but fills our own spirit with joy!

Last week, I photographed a Romantic Styled Shoot that originated with a little inspiration and evolved into something beautifully real. So often, I see inspiration on Pinterest and think to myself, “If only I could do something like that…” – Whether it’s home design, wedding details, fitness tips, delicious recipes, or photographic ideas, I’m so quick to ‘pin’ but rarely do I turn those concepts into something real.

That inspiring thing that you’ve been dreaming of doing? Go out and do it!

Stop procrastinating. Stop living your life on the sidelines. Stop watching others do the things that you wish you were doing.

Take those ideas and create a plan to make them happen! I’ve learned that if I schedule time for something by writing it in on my calendar, I am much more likely to do it. This includes taking days off, which I also have to schedule or run the risk working for months at a time without a single break! But I digress…

I have been implementing my own advice during the past few weeks and have absolutely loved exploring new ideas and inspiration! I tried making Sassy Water, which I absolutely adore by the way, worked on a dreamy Styled Shoot that I’m sneak peeking today, and began making mercury glass for my wedding!

I got tired of putting ideas and inspiration off until tomorrow… I’m ready to live this amazing life to the fullest each and every day by implementing the ideas that I’ve held close to my heart for some time. Little things, but things I’ve been wanting to do nonetheless.

This week, I plan to make one meal from my Quite Delish Recipe Board and I promise to let you know how it turns out! I also want to start saving up to buy a juicer so that I can begin making delicious veggie juices to enjoy throughout the workday!

What have you been wanting to do, but continue to put off for another day?
This is your amazing, crazy, beautiful life… Go out and live it.

I can’t wait to see more from this styled shoot! Lee had already given me an idea of how beautiful it would be and this little teaser has definitely exceeded my expectations!

Such a great lesson about making plans and just DOING things. I fall victim to this far too often.

I’ve also started to “DO” some of the things I’ve been putting off, or just pinning!! What a great feeling it is! Your words are a great inspiration – keep passing the sparkle, love!

LOVE THIS! I have been so “down” in the past couple of weeks- feeling in a rut and like those things I want to happen aren’t happening. But guess what? I wasn’t DOING anything to MAKE them happen! It’s so easy to fall back into that place where we just wish and wish for things but don’t put the energy out there to make them a reality. Thanks for the reminder :)

    That sassy water looks yummy!

I know I am way more motivated when I make a list of my to-dos! No matter the size of the project it goes on the list.

I’m getting married too and I had been just pinning and not doing but I’ve started to do some diy things with my best friend (maid of honor)!! If feels good to get some things started as we get closer to the date!
