Katie & Butch’s Engagement | St. Michaels, Maryland

May 23, 2012 | Posted in Engagements

For just over an hour, we cruised along the gorgeous landscape of Maryland’s Eastern Shore until our laughter-filled conversation was interrupted by the crunch of metal and the shattering of glass. Yes, we were in a car crash. A very scary crash that left us a bit shaken, but, thank the good Lord, unharmed. Any other couple might give up right there, might turn around and head back to Annapolis – with a rescheduled session and totaled car… but not Katie and Butch. We shook it off and had one of the best engagement sessions that I’ve ever done along the historic docks of St. Michaels.

Their positivity and perseverance, mixed with a dash of humor, truly impressed me. It reminded me that a marriage, an unconditional partnership, means facing the uncertainties and troubles of life together… hand in hand. And no matter what life throws their way, they can overcome it with a laugh and a smile.

Thank you Katie & Butch! I can truly say that I had a smashing good time!

Beautiful pictures! It’s so hard to choose a favorite! I love the pictures of them with the ampersand, and that ring shot on the turquoise wood and rope netting is FABULOUS!

And SO glad that everyone’s okay.. that is so scary to be in a car crash! My husband (then-fiancee) got in a big wreck 2 weeks before our wedding.. and we were on the way to pay off the wedding cake! Not fun.
That’s great Katie and Butch are able to fly by the seat of their pants, though.. we all get thrown curveballs every now and then!

Perseverance is right, they don’t appear to have been shakin’ up at all. Love the sitting on the dock photos! So peaceful.

Hi Natalie, that’s a crazy story about the car crash! The photos look so carefree you could have never guessed. Nice, clean processing, and really love the shot of the ring on the rope. Looks dangerous :)
