A Little Makeover | The Branding Process

December 27, 2011 | Posted in Personal

Today, I am incredibly excited to be revealing my new brand, blog, and website too all of you! My incredible best friend, creative genius, and web-designer – Krista A. Jones – worked countless hours working on my new logo and especially on the blog!

Natalie Franke Photography has officially gotten the makeover that it so deeply deserved!

In redesigning my logo, Krista and I talked for hours, days, and weeks about creating something that meshed my love for classic simplicity with my passion for creativity and the arts. Creating my brand identity was like mixing JCrew with Anthropologie, blending my staple pearl earrings with my worn in Sperry Topsiders, creating something that truly represented who I am today and where I see myself as I approach graduation in May.

While Krista worked on redesigning my blog, I began recreating my website! A process that can seem daunting, became so much easier with the amazing base templates provided by Showit – If you’re a photographer and you haven’t heard of Showit, stop reading here and immediately head over to their website! I’m simply smitten!

The design on both the website and the blog aim to tap into a sense of classic simplicity, incorporating light greys and pinks with an overarching fine art look! Blending timeless minimalism with a more young-hearted spirit brought us to the selection of the the various details and sweeping waves of watercolor paint across the background.

When I built my business from scratch, I poured my entire heart and soul into every aspect of it’s creation. And as the years passed, I continued to grow as a photographer, an artist, and as a person. What started out as a dream at seventeen, evolved into a thriving company as I reached my twenties and has become one of the most overwhelming joys in my life. Photography is not simply my career or a calling. It’s become a way of life – my way of seeing the world and the beauty of all the people in it!

I truly can’t thank Krista Jones enough for all of her help, late night conversations, countless hours of work, and dedication! She is an incredible designer and an even more incredible best friend. Thank you, Krista! I love you from the bottom of my heart!

So without further ado, be sure to head on over to my New Website and look around the blog!

Some of my favorite features include the About Me Page, the delicate watercolor details, and the fabulous next & previous arrows at the bottom of the home page! It’s little elements that make Krista’s design so personal, so very me!
